Agreed. If your chick requires a lot of dosh to keep her, then she's too high maintenance. The car, on the other hand, doesn't know any better. Also, I assume you're not engaged or anything like that yet? If this is the case, then you'll be setting a dangerous precedent by splurging big on a 2yr anniversary, and each year the bar will be raised.

Matter of fact, romance and relationships are a 2-way street. You could get her something nice and drop hints that she could buy you the springs. Smile

I agree with River as well, i'm on my 4th year with my girlfriend and the last thing i bought her was a digital camera Shocked

I think the bar has been raised way too high, she's still getting away with buying me shirts and stuff Confused

Why not write a list of fun things that you've done together over the past two years (ie we went here and did this and this funny thing happened and do you remember such and such) and turn it into a sappy poem or something. It doesn't matter if the poem sucks, it lets her know how much you enjoy being with her and that you appreciate her being in your life. Give it to her with a bunch of pink gerberas (roses are way overdone and too expensive).

Then spend the money on the car Wink

Are we assuming that the girlfriend and car are 2 different things??? My guess is that they're the same thing Laughing which means go for the springs + shocks...it will make your girlfriend much happier and a nicer ride!

Why not just take her out somewhere inexpensive?
For example... like go have a picnic or fish n chips or soemthing at the beach/river.. drive to a lookout.. something that wont cost you heaps but she'll still give you the kudos, and maybe she'll like it better coz u put a bit of thought into it instead of just taking her some some random restaraunt....

then, spend the money on the car Cool

I reckon spend money on the car (but not within 1 week of aniversary - she'll get pissed then).

Even if you do fuck up the low cost, romantic shit, she''l forgive you after a week at the most, if you spend the money on her, your shocks will still suck in a week Wink

(I refuse to sigh this, that way I can deny I typed it later if I need to)

Try this. Find a lookout with a good view then go to a pizza joint (not pizza fut etc but an italian one or something like it) that does deliveries and arrange it with them for a delivery at the lookout. It doesn't have to be pizza it can even be her fave food and get a mate or 2 to deliver the stuff. But make sure your mate is looking smicko and not wearing thongs, boardies and a t-shirt but something that he (or she) would wear out on the town.
And don't forget the wine.

And to top it off she'll be telling her friends for months what you done.
