no, just not very well done im MY opinion.
they are not absolutely shithouse, dont get me wrong, just not worth the money they ask for.

hot version international, best motoring or JDM option are much better alternatives.

"Unbelievable." that car was shit slow , it couldn't even catch the civic in front on the track , 450hp my ass . 450hp in a sub 900kg car , it would be pulling a gear about every two seconds . I will not even bother about the crap the handling was , it displayed hardly a grip set up . And shit the engines is high in the bay . C&Y's first sr20det conversions seemed to be much better {also in one of the early HPI's videos}, engines where so far back there was no room for heaters in the cars .

That ae86 sr20det was for sale a while ago on Yahoo auctions japan , and theres a HPI magazine with two pages of useless information about all the bolts ons . And a few photos that look to be taken from the internet , yes there might have not even seen the car .

And as far as there DVD's i am with Garth 100% , there just aload of old footage from japan . They never even show you any of the car in detail , or how they went about constructing it or real information .There seem to get mostly carried away on dyno runs and bullshit big name garages .Bloody waste of money the last one with simon on the cover , just wait till they hit the net and download them next time .

Also see the grip volume 6 for the signal auto gtr , its supposed to have about 950-1000hp ? it seems to struggle to accelerate over 200k's , so i am seriously doubting japanese power figures from now on .

But it does have Thuy Li import model / show girl in it

It you want to see how a true 1000hp car goes > http://www.vsmotor.no/en_videos.html

Hey Shiri wheres a link to the kenworks car ?
All i could find was this > http://www.kenworks.com
It looks like there have given up working on cars and moved into porn , there must be more money there .

i stopped buying the mag after they used 4 pages of slow-mo video on "how to drift" like a pro and one compared to a newbie, and each screen shot shows a stupid useless caption on what they're doing.
kinda showed me that they were running out of ideas

I too aint a huge fan of the ozzie made productions, but its something.

I do much prefere BMI there crazier then a cut snake, bunch of made freaks.

I gave up on local stuff when it was advertised "Australia's biggest AE86 meet/gather" or what ever the hell they called it, it was so fukin poor i nearly spewed. The first ae86 cruise in sydney i went on was heaps better, lot more variety?

Ev all i can suggest is you watch the clip again in slow-mo and see if theres any websites on the car your chasing, then go from there.

You'll find something. Maybe a little less parting and more searching will find your answers.

Cheers

Steve

That was quick Garth.

I believe it was, an older (40-50yrs old) gentleman of Asian appearance owned it, if i remember correctly?

But yeah that sounds like it, they were TRYING too drift in the carpark but the safety dude came over and said no-go basically.
Go over there and they ended up on that small drift/go-kart track.

Cheers

The "Ken Works" AE86 runs an SR20DET also... it makes them kinda tail-happy... unless its just the suspension... because the track car in HPi8 was supposed to grip... didn't seem to do much...

Just for the record, im not taking the piss out of anyone's rides, just the fact that something as big as the cult AE86 following world wide and thats all they could russle up, for fucks sake, at least have a decent go at it?

Although at first it seems it was only a fill-in/rushed type of job, hopefully they (whoever produces these said dvd's) see this as contructive criticism and learn from their fuk ups!

Cheers
