3 wire turbo timer installation Sat, 15 January 2005 09:38 Go to next message
i have installed a three wire turbo timer into my project car - ke70 3tgte - but i dont have the instructions. i have spliced it onto the steering column to +12V, and to IG (i think) (black w/ yellow stripe) and grounded. when i turn the key off however the engine stops but i can still use accessories like heater fan etc. for 1 minute. I thought i might be splicing the loom in the wrong place as the engine runs on a separate loom to the car- should i splice the TT to the IG teminal on the ecu instead? or somewhere else

easiest way to check if you spliced into the acc wire is shut down as normal and see if the acc works after the timer turns off..
if it does then you have spliced into the acc wire.. Rolling Eyes

Dont use a diagram to find the colour wire, use a multimeter/test light. Then you can be sure.

Cheers

Just look for the wire that is only +ve 12V when the ignition is on and DOESN'T drop to 0V when the starter motor is cranked.
