man... pure bliss, i love it
100000% better than that "aussie style" shit when you bought it, man i hate that style... ick
but those skirts+pods are lovely...... yummmmy
cant wait till i get mine!!
the rear custom centrepiece with the chopped JDM mounts look nice, i think ill do that to mine tomorrow
and your wheels, much much much repect!
in my opinion, u need a jdm rear bar (without the lights), that would look sexy, put the side trim back on (in blue to match) and maybe a ducktail wing to top it off

If and when I get a respray, I will probably be shaving off where the bumper lights are. I got the lights with the whitelines when I bought them, so thats no problem.
Same goes for the side strips, I'll be chucking them on after respray.
Im keeping the colour a secret. Was originally going to be XR6 blue, but theres already 2 86's in this colour already.
But I will probably stick with the spoiler I have now.. I don't mind ducktails but I want to stay a bit different, not many kitted up 86's are using the smaller wing.
And yes, I like the wheels too, but wouldn't mind something wider for the rear... like 14 x 9's..
SSR Mk2's.. with black centre... thats what im after

Pic of the head last time it was off, notice HKS cams and clean ports.
And one of the engine bay, which is forever dirty as I have a bad habbit of driving on dirt roads and not enough enthusiasm to clean it..

Thanks, I like to think I got good taste too heh
The car has been through a few different looks since I bought it, so this is sort of a finished product.
I had a JDM bodykit colour coded with black aussie grill and superlites for a while. Looked pretty decent, but I'm happy with how it turned out now.
Whats scary is I didn't think it looked too bad when I bought it! , ..well it made a good base to improve on anyway

Thanks Wei
Yeah Im happy with the lip, a Jblood front bar would of been nice but I didnt want a FRP bumper for personal reasons..
The Jblood skirts actually fitted nicer than the JDM skirts I had on before, except one side doesn't sit flush with the body but i'm not sure if thats my car or the skirt..

Quick update...
Recentely made the trip to Melbourne for the AE86 weekend. I was very suprised how nice the car was to drive on the highway (taking advantage of the 3.9 diff ratio heh)
Went smoothly except the quality of roads between Horsham and Bendigo took some of my black paint of my front bumper. I repainted this over last weekend and looks nice and clean again
Before I left I busted my third S series diff, which was replaced with a T-series from a T18 thanks to Steve and his mate Damien.
I also ordered a Cusco RZ 2way from Wei
My clutch is now officially fucked, and when I replace it I will be using a 3.7kg flywheel and a stronger clutch.
I am looking at getting a second car to use a daily driver, and getting this ready for trackwork. So if everything goes well, the interior should be stipped and some bracing added etc.
Keep this thread updated.

I love how u turned ur car into a really clean ride true to the style of the japs.
Awesome aesthetics, makes me want to put out the money for whitelines and a mailbox grille.
What are you using to hold ur grille? Cable ties?

Thanks guys!
For the grill I had originally just zip-tied it, but wasn't happy with how it sat.
So I made some metal brackets which go back to the radiator support panel.
This was a good idea, but my headlight was sitting a bit crooked due to a previous accident (I only hit the headlight and parker on a gaurdrail luckily), so I tried to force the headlight back up and I cracked the grill as it was held so tightly to the car!
It looks like a Carbon Fibre bonnet might be going on soon.. I was supposed to be putting money aside for second car, but whenever I seem to start saving a bargain pops up
Hopefully it won't look to rice.. what do you guys think of this photoshop?

Also fitted a T3 Boss extender. Stops me hitting my knees on the wheel! This ontop of a 75mm Momo boss brings the wheel quite close to the driver.

Magicmitch: Yeah I know the Falcon colour your talking about. Its a little bit darker but very similar, thats my number 1 choice at the moment for if and when I get a respray.
Jay: The red rooster bag is fully custom. Im hoping to win some autosalon awards with my sick interior mods
sickAE86: Your car will look awesome with a CF bonnet, good to see your making it look even better
The mirrors are Eastbear and I got them through greenline.jp.
Arch: Yeah the indicator stalk is cut down, was like that when I bought it and I havent bothered doing anything about it. Its a bit of a reach to use it with the boss extender, but its better than hitting your knuckles on it
About the weight, Ive never had it on a weighbridge so I don't know. I still have to strip the interior, as I've still got full boot trim and rear seats/carpets etc etc.. I would say its probably slightly less than the average 86 as Im missing a few things from the engine bay and the mirrors/bonnet/rims etc are all lighter than factory parts.

Skaney, you might find that bonnet a bit weird to line up fully. I know the original owner and we had issues in lining it up on his car as well.
Finally got it lined up nicely, but his dropvented bonnet had come in by then. Lots and lots of trial and error will get you through. And hope you have better hinges than he did.

I'm not too sure about the kouki headlights/indicators etc. I wouldn't mind them, but Im not going out of my way to buy some, its just something thats harder to replace if I hit something
takai: do you mean lining it up so that it clips in at the front and still sits flush towards the window but still doesn't foul when opening, I had to play around with that a little bit to get it right..
But the problem I have now is it has a bend in the middle, so it sits higher than the gaurd in the middle.
Did your friend have this problem?
other than that I must say I am pretty impressed with the bonnet, and looking at older pictures of my car it just looks a bit plain

Yeah, it took us forever to try and line it up properly, i think the hinges were a bit worn as it would pretty quickly wobble out of alignment. From your photos i can see what you mean with a bend in the bonnet, on his car it was more of a gap all the way, which we put down to his front end smack. Strange that it has a bow in it.

Was just down at sleeka spares getting a 4.1 centre to go with my soon to be aquired LSD, and I came across these babys
May look a bit shabby now, but you should of seen my Enkie's when I first got them. I'll have these cleaned up with polished rim by the weekend
only 6 inch wide, and a pretty high offset, but they will easily fit on my bolt on spacers and only weight 6kg. Gonna get some sloppy 175's put on for when my LSD gets fitted!
Best bit of all is they only cost me $60 for the pair..
