Watanabi Mag Wheels Thu, 13 January 2005 03:38 Go to next message
G'day
How does anyone have a set of 15", 16" or 17" Watanabi mag wheels to suite an MA61
How much would they cost?
Cheers Nick

YOu can buy them new in the states for 4k US, or you can haunt the Yahoo Auctions in Japan if u can speak it and know someone living in Japan. They are very difficult to get locally...

FYI, never say Superlights are Better than Watanabes thats sacralidge!

i just want something that looks like that Watanabe style i just think they would look very tough and drift style on an MA61. Although i have the stock mags on my MA61 i have a photo of an MA61 with those style wheels and OMG..... very nice Does anyone have alink so i can have a closer look at these SSR or Superlights. I have seen superlights and they don't look quite as good, but still very similar

yeah, I am too

but it's still hard to justify spending $1800 on rims, even if I really do need/want the traction.

edit: enough off topic crap.

My Enkeis worked out to be about 4kg lighter per corner than the Superlights I previously owned..

But mind you if the 14s came in wider sizes with dish like the 13 x 7's I would probably own a set. They are quite strong I went through some pretty rough offroad stuff that would of bent other wheels and they came out fine.

Yeh, Superlites are a good deal for new MA61 mags. 16x7's are about a grand a set.

See: www.performancewheels.com.au

I'm planning to get some in 16x7 and spray centres black. Finding good 2nd hand Watanabes, with correct offset, in a large fitment is not easy.

PS: LT, what size are your rims?

FWIW: these Simmons 15x7, 0mm offset wheels are for sale in Qld.
Would look mighty purdy on a '61.

I think they only make the 15 inch superlites in 6 inch width. I was quoted offsets the other week from memory of 2+, 24+ & 33+.

You can email Performance and ask directly. I did this but didn;t write it down so may not remember correctly.
