Dyno Day 10

16th January 2005 Silverwater Automotive Services

We have returned to SAS for our latest dyno day and we've had a great day. Forty five cars ran and we have some new records to show for it.

A big thanks has to go out to Dave and Tom from SAS for keeping the cars moving all day and looking after us. The SAS venue worked out really well once we finally got the marquee there to give some shade for the spectators.

Obviously we have to give thanks to our food suppliers for the Barbie, Harwood meats for the meat and Craig and Cassie for the buns. Then all of the people who went to get food for us during the day and made sure the barbie was running and there were drinks available the whole day.

The WINNERS are:

I knew watching Team America when we were doing this would end in tears. Because the car was in a different class last time around I didn't notice it's old result. All updated now.

A nice low key but well run event. No big egos and a nice relaxed feel...thanks to the guys who put in the hard work to make it the great day it was. Apologies for not being able to hang around until the finish but it's still a bit of a hike back to Canberra after a day in the sun so we had to hit the road early.

Now, where are my trophies Wink

heehee - we would normally present them on the immediate following meeting, but since i can safely assume you wont be there, we'll just have to give them to you at the next event you are at. Most likely easter?

Depending what Easter event your are referring to probably....i won't be going to Tamworth...too far, too expensive and too dull.

Well for those of us this DID make it from Vic, a reasonable time was had. A good day, followed by a nice couple of laps of the Old Pacific Highway, a bit of fire fighting (another story for later!), and a good chance to wear my best outfit (thongs, bogan-gardening hat, KISS shirt, 70s shades).

Hopefully I'll be there next time with a (slightly!) more interesting car. Or two!

Was glad I turned up, long trip from Victoria was worth it.

Does anyone want to host 16Mb of pictures I took? Got as many cars as I could.... Even that crazy looking orange starlet that didn't end up running, a shame Sad

The 21R corona must've run pretty late, 32kw is pretty bad imho, my 21R celica made 45kw Evil or Very Mad

Cheers,
James

Sorry I couldn't make it guys, but my ride was head-less. Sad 111kw for top 4WD? Hmmm. Wink Replace head, fit up Power FC and decent tune and we'll see how we go for DD-XI in July. Might have a few more mods by then too.

Hey Dale - sorry I been away for a day or two. PM, or better yet ICQ/MSN me, would probably be easier than clogging up threads with too much car talk!

Going through the results, it looks like anyone can rock up and put their car on the dyno. Is that right? If so, when is the next one? What does it cost?

Hi Jayem. Yes anyone can rock up to the dyno events, "Toyota or inferior" as our club president always says Smile Costs $45 for members and $50 for non-members.

There's a sausage sizzle running all day with drinks etc...

Good fun day to look at cars, chat to like minded car crazy people and hear really nice engines rev out to redline on a dyno, a Twin Turbo V8 roar...for example...

What car do you drive mate I live up around your way?

I have a red 1990 Corolla Seca SX16, AE92, 4AGE engine (a far cry from your MR2 i'm afraid). The only thing that has been changed is the wheels. The body is a little worse for wear (some bastard ran a key down the whole drivers side Mad ), so I think that's first.

I'll be waiting a while to do some major mods as my son wants to drive it in a few years. So in the mean time i'll be doing what I can, but still keeping it within P plate specs. Provided the next dyno day doesn't interfere with our other activities, we'll be there to have a look at what goes on and probably even give it a run on the dyno.

Does anyone want to host 16Mb of pictures I took? Got as many cars as I could.... Even that crazy looking orange starlet that didn't end up running, a shame Sad

Dude, if you still have them, then send them to me!
