I went and watched the first round of the NSW series 2 weekends ago at Wakefield park. This was the first event I had been to, Beau Yates was there and was amazing to watch around the track.
He blew a tyre and ripped off a bumper on one run in qualifying and just kept on drifting. Very cool to watch
Damn it's harsh on the vehicles

Good work Simon... me and just about everyone else thought you deserved the win
Leighton also did very well and should be happy with 4th!
And Beau's car.. I never got to see it on the track unfortunetley, but had the pleasure of him parking next to my car in the bling and shine.
Made my car feel very small

We all know who should have won though
Congrats on coming 2nd Simon and on coming 4th to leighton. What happened down the bottom end of the track is total BS. Very unfair call by the judges.

Does anyone know more info about Beau's ae86? id love to know the specs.
All i know is the engine, obviously 20v tarbo.
But gearbox? standard t50? Diff? brake setup? and any other goodies you guys know he has on that car would be great?
I love the car, and beau is a great driver no questions asked, from what i saw of him live i couldnt get enough.
Congrats on 2nd place Simon, keep up the good work.

Oh yeah congrats on the 2nd place in privateers simon! Despite the 'controversy' I thought it was a bloody good effort - you looked like you were going to get trounced by the guy given your earlier performances on sunday and how well that guy was driving. Plus like 100% of everyone in the crowd I thought you had him until they asked for the re-run!

That battle was the re-run that the judges forced simon to do. Simon had no rubber so he couldnt put any power down, watch the video again u will see that he cant accelerate coming onto the straight.

Yep I noticed that, But I actually meant the short straight before the corner onto the mainstraight. It just seemed like a dead straight over-take. Hope the judges didnt give it any weight..

i just watched the Jarius @ Mallala video closey, adn you can see that simon cant get any traction, but also Jarius is quite aware of this, adn doesnt slide out of the cnr, he does get the rear to slide out VERY lightly, but he is more or less just trying to grip overtake Simon... He doesnt link up ANY of the S's, while simon still links them all up
Watch both runs, Simon leading, and Simon following, he drives the same, linking up like the pro he is, Jarius ont he other hand, drifts very well leading, but following... no linking at all.
Got stooged hardcore! And to think a friend of mine said that the Cefiro won just cuz it was a Cefiro, that the AE86 was too old.... coming from a VT driver though.... *sighs*
I have the video playing in teh background atm... while i type this... i have to admit, that commentator is rather annoying...
Would be better just to announce the names/cars, places etc, no need to put in his stupid comments during the battles
/rant off
