Ok I'm selling my project, it is 95% complete is and is driveable.

It's a 1984 Corona Avante
-Gen 3 1G-GTE
-Stock intercooler
-Saab recirculating BOV
-HKS airfilter
-5 puck sprung center clutch with ~900kg pressure plate (good feel)
-Power Steering
-3" exhaust
-factory 14" mag wheels fitted
-Comes with 15" hyperfangs not fitted.

To complete needs a custom front swaybar made up(rough cost $300)
and the fitment of the ra60 brakes and disks which i have in a box in the trunk.

once them two things are done it then needs to be engineered which is should pass no worries once that has been done. it currently has rego and I have driven it around quote a bit(drive like a dream)

I'm after $4500 but am negotiable. Photos will follow later in the week.

also has new pads for the ra60 brakes and new bearings to be put in with the new brake setup.

Also has a spare set of turbos with very minimal shaft play (one of the best second hand sets I have seen)

ok it runs a w57 with the standard gearbox x member(one less thing for an engineer to look at) with the standard drive shaft and to the standard 3.58 F series IRS rear end. it's just begging for a ma61 lsd to be slotted in there.

F series is a 7.5 inch IRS which makes the avante a great candidate for this conversion over the standard corona.

What is the difference between the stock brakes and ra60? vented?

this is the ultimate sleeper. i like it.

would an NSW engineers cert be valid in SA?

yeah ra60 brakes are ventilated.

not the avante already runs 4 wheel disk brakes too so with the front ventilated it easily satisfies an engineers cert.

a nsw engineers cert wont be any good in adelaide i'm pretty sure(though it doesnt have an engineers cert)

Rego is till 8th of april I think..

I'm open to offers.

oh yeah here is a pic of the 15 inch rims i have to go on it.
they have various rubber but really requires a new set of rubber on all of them.

http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=getfile&id=9592

they also have center caps that cover up the stud patterns.

I would consider and probably buy it if it was in Brisbane.

Its just the project I've been fantasising about lately.

I thought the Avante came with 4 wheel disc? Maybe that was only with the later model ones?

How much power did it show at the dyno day?

yes it has 4wheel disks. fronts need changing with the ra65 stuff as it has solid disks allway round.

I got 130sumthing with the fuel ratios way out the window.. and only running 13psi.

I have since cleaned up the fuel ratios and done the timing so on 15psi it puts down 150ish.

yeah them figures were punching it around town and doing 130-140 on the highway.

it's be way less if you just cruised, 5th gear does 2,200 @ 100kmhr

or maybe it was 2,300.. might have to wire up the tacho to check it. but I remember it was something like that when the 22re was in there.

my corona sits on about 2.5rpm at 100kmph, this upgrade to the 1ggte sounds good shame my car is live rear, lots more power and less fuel, stock I get about 15-18L per 100km for my 22re, thats city driving.

b4 the conversion I got 11.28 0-100 and 18.28 1/4

havent done a quarter run yet, but I'm sure with a lsd and some good tires it'd do a mid 13

yeah the avante is a much better platform having the Fseries irs rear end with a 3.58 diff.

plus the central locking and other little goodies.

atleast you have a 22re model. much better base to start from that the 2s, which is carby?!?! Confused

mate, i've got a white one but other than that it's the same. oh, and the original engine.

But my question is.. what did it cost you to do the swap? assuming the motor is stock with stock turbos. just a ball park number would be nice.

thanks.

2k for the original halfcut(i originally had it in a ra28)
$100 for intercooler piping
$100 for electrical scraps.
$1030 for exhauts
+ odds and ends
$20 for thermo
I put a new clutch in from when it was in the celica $450(found receipt for it the other day).

+ time time time.

remember I'm a tradesman so I have access to alot of odds and ends that I didnt have to pay for as they were in the back of my car.

oh and it comes with say $200 dollars worth of turbos extra $300 worth of wheels with random rubber.
$100 worth of tacho(may even install it)
so I think that the 5k is a very fair price tag for it.
