Wheel stud options, diff & brakes Tue, 01 February 2005 06:12 Go to next message
Hi all,

Im a little lost when it comes to what i need to do to get 5 stud wheels all round and a G series diff on my RA28.

I know i can look for a RN27 diff, which will give me a similar track, but im unsure of what wheel stud pattern this will leave me with (5x???), and if this pattern will be usable with finding wheels.
The RN27 drums would be ok.

As for the fronts, i need larger brakes & obviously i will want the wheel stud pattern to match the rears.
There is the hilux/pug/corona brake upgrade, but this leaves me with 4 studs.
Ive heard somthing about RX7 parts?

I know im asking for a lot of info here, but i really dont know who i should be talking to to find out what options i have.

(BTW, bigger diff, bigger front brakes & 5 stud wheels are requirements from the engineer for me to fit a 1UZ).

Thanks.

If you want your fronts to match you rear stud pattern, then you would have to go for a little more custom brake setup on the front. You would prob use something like me, i run Falcon BA brakes AUIII. You can get all sort of stud patterns with these discs and the adaptor hubs are matched for the stud pattern you require.

5 stud conversion for the front end has been covered MANY times, MS65 hubs and you can re-drill your stock front rotors or upgrade so something bigger check out the MA61 threed in this section, and the stud pattern all round will be ford/toyota so MANY MANY wheels will be available.

MS65 hubs (or later ones, altered), skyline brakes and a bigger master.

Let me get this straight...

So to use the MS65 hubs, ill need to use the stock RA28 struts, or the XT130/RT132 struts?

I can then use Pug 604 discs redrilled for the hubs and the Hilux calipers?
