If anyone could give me a rough idea of how much it would cost to get one Quarter Panel Acid dipped that would be great..
Rough figures would be great so i could get any idea..
Cheers..

just get it blasted. It'd only cost 20 bucks or so at a sand blaster, no idea on price of bead blasting though.

I was told by people in the paint and panel industry that:
*don't get large flat panels i.e. doors/roof/bonnet/guards etc sand blasted as it can lead to panel deformation, especially if the sand blasting is concentrated in one area for too long.
*bead blasting can be used but has to be done carefully and by someone with experience or the above problems seen with sandblasting car occur
*baking soda blasting is least likely to damage panels but next to no one does it.
What about some good old fashioned elbow grease and wet 'n' dry paper? wouldn't take too long to take back a quarter panel to bare metal if it is just factory paint.
Or use paint stripper (nasty stuff) on the main area of the panel and just use wet 'n' dry to do the edges, this would be the quickest and easiest method.
Others may have some other ideas/methods...

use paint stripper then get a wire wheel for ur grinder.
wire wheel can heat the panel up but just dont concentrate on one spot for to long.

You can get paint stripper wheels for 4" grinders for around $10 at Bunnings, not, sure how long they would last doing a full panel though...

USe paint stripper and 3M paint stripping discs (like abrasive sponges for your drill) for the tough bits.

Nothing beats getting some arm exercise However, you can cheat like most panel people and use a sander for most of it...

would acid dipping be suitable for doors that have been sanded back to bare metal but have surface rust?
