ST190 corona idle problem Thu, 03 February 2005 04:10 Go to next message
i have a toyota corona 92 model, and just recently, i've had problems with the idling of the car..its rougher than usual, and is worse when the a/c is on. it doesn't have a problem in park. when i put the a/c on, it drops to very low revs, and then goes up again, but is still rough.

i've just recently changed the spark plugs and leads.

when i put the car from drive to neutral, when i'm stopped at a light, the revs drop and the car idles really roughly for a second or two, then it picks up and goes to normal (normal being slightly rough)..

i thought perhaps i have to change the idle timings, but i simply cannot find the idle screw.

any ideas what's wrong with it?

the old leads were screwed, arcing and stuff

I've noticed, when the car is in drive, it is fine... but if the car is in drive, and the fan is on (no a/c) it shakes, and even worse with a/c..

It sort of "searches" for the idle speed, it dips below 500 and then it goes close to 900 and then it settles at around 650, a bit less.. and is still kinda rough

i had the problem before i changed the leads though...
