rofl = roll on floor laughing (option mao - my ass off) - came from IRC days as an abreviation similar to lol (laugh out loud)
pwned = purposeful mispelling of owned, probably originated by someone f*cking up. Comes from the gaming community eg. owned you, pnwed you
teh = same as above
see also !!!111 (took the shift off too early)

1. Rolling On the Floor Laughing. (Basically something VERY funny).

2. Because they're retards that can't see the O next to the P. I personally always see that deliberate miss-spell as saying "pawned", which in turn leads me to, "so did you sell him to cash converters then"?

3. Honest spelling mistake. Also deliberatly spelt like that when making the other person look like a moron. As in: "you win teh prize!!11"

Actually it's pronnounced pun'd. the pu as in put. A lot of people reckon it's pronnounced pawned but they too agree its pund after watching the myg0t video Evil or Very Mad
It started with someone trying to say owned but missed the o and hit p and went on from there.

Its pretty funny. I was there at the birth of all of it (real net gaming and irc speak) And we eventually started using it at school. ..

The response from everyone was WTF? or.. thats lame..

And since then its just funny how its worked its way into the car world through number plates (but at the same time turned extremely lame) and now the same type of people who used to bag us out use it TOO MUCH ie. Its the way they constantly write and speak.

Back at its birth it was always for fun.. or as a joke... or to get in the mood of the game or somethhing.

But its just been blown out of proportion.

Sad

It was kind of a merge of worlds. It was half "hacker" speak and seen a lot on IRC then made popular by the large amount of people playing quake..

OMFG d00d that r0cket jump mid-air RL kill was l33tz0r! U is the next reload!
HEH.
