Pretty!
Thanks for the contris so far.
Jag7799 - is that metallic blue, or just normal gloss? Can't tell in the pic.
EMP-2TG - that all-black looks uber clean. Please me tell what paint you used

Mine so fair:
FWIW this is 'aluminium' paint, which I'm quite impressed with. Looks a little better in the pic than in real life, but I think it will still look quite nice for intake pipes.

Thanks for that - I think it looks great. (I *think* my alum paint is the same brand, will have to check).
Looks more satin to me than Matt black.
What did you use to grind the ridges off?

Which piping are you talking about?
just the IC piping im assuming. Its just black gloss engine enamel.
Did the trick
All the alloy stuff has just been sanded down a bit and polished, after this picture ive sanded the plenum completely flat and polished to a half mirror like finish

Intake manifold is sprayed with VHT Aluminium Engine Enamel (the hi-temp stuff).
I'm not to impressed with the finish, as I was going for something shinier, but thats me.
I've heard its supposed to look a lot better with a few coats of laquer on it.
Same can of paint.

The VHT stuff is generally very good, I particularly like their vinyl/plastic dye and their wrinkle paint. As far as brilliant aluminium heat paint goes, the PPC stuff can't be touched. There is no peer

why does everyone spray their alloy, when it just polishes up and looks nicer?

Because I don't like polished alloy, and whereas that will need re-polishing, mine will stay that way so long as I keep it clean.

Everyone has different tastes, all my aluminium is polished (except for the inlet manifold which is a tedious job and may get done one day).
My cam covers were originally painted but I found they would get marked and chipped over time, the polished finish is more durable and a 5 second polish has it looking a treat

Polishing looks crap unless you spend lots of time on it, or its done professionally.
Painting on the other hand, a quick prep, quick spray, and it looks smooth, clean, and will do for years to come.

It'll be better when I get some red leads, but with the 8.8mm blue leads coming with the engine, and work, it made sense to use them.

It's a bit off topic but..........
after seeing the last picture i was wondering if the 4age and 4ac top covers (not the rocker covers but the black this with the engine name on it)
were interchangeable ?
ie u could tell somebody u had a 4age when u really have a 4ac ?
it might work on somebody who had no idea.

Skip: I have two pipes coming from the front bar. One is directed next to the turbo as there is going to be a heat shield going from fire wall to the front of the turbo to protect the master cylinder. So that one is for cooling that area.
The other one will be CAI but I haven't got around to seperating the filter from the hot bits yet. I also have a bonnet scoop now and the filter sits basically in the opening to that.
