I think valentines is more of an event to get couples together, not to help couples stay together or express their love for one another. Thoughts?
In this case if you are in a relationship id do as little as possible, perhaps a small gift or do something mutually satisfying like dinner and sex 
I agree with Draven, Hallmark event!

Agreed! and yah, it's such a hallmark wankfest that renders itself somewhat meaningless. 
Don't get me wrong, generosity is great, but spontaneity is the key. Much better to give stuff (eg. head ) just because you want to, not 'cause hallmark wants you to buy their shit (after jacking the prices up come February), or even worse - getting laid on a reciprocal basis for buying expensive shit for someone. To me, that experience would be not only devoid of emotion, but tainted by distinct whoredom.
Just my opinion, and I've been told my views on such matters can either be a) very distorted, or b) quite perceptive. So I'd be unsurprised by any criticism.
