Suspension in my st162 Wed, 09 February 2005 12:53 Go to next message
Hey everyone,
Ever since i got my car about 6 months ago the suspension hasn't been great. I really don't know heaps about suspension but i know mine could be improved for sure.
I have king springs lowered 1" all round.
When i take a left turn kinda quick the back right makes a clunking noise, like the shock is bottoming out or something. The guy i bought it off reckoned it needed new rear struts but then a very wise mechanic (Jamie) told me that they were fine. After going over a bump the car sorta bounces up and down a little more than it should and i have to go over speed bumps REAL slow or it clunks at the back right.
Time for new shocks/struts or what?
Can anyone recommend a good place to go in newcastle?
Cheers!

ay buddy..sounds like ur struts....novacastrian auto recyclers on the highway at bennets green/gateshead have 2 st162 wrecks in there..one of them just had all 4 struts recon'd not long before it was sent headlong into a pole..theyd probably want about 110 per strut thats what they charged me for front struts out of the wreck....i might be willing to swap u struts from my dead 162 if ur willing to swap me that bonnet for the stocker on my 165 lol

yeah it must be ur struts,

my st162 rear has been lowered 2 inches and it never hits bump stops, it rides perfect

my front used to be harsh like that but that because it was too low,
