KONI Adjustables or Coilovers Mon, 14 February 2005 10:58 Go to next message
any of the old school Toyotas tried a comparison ?Did a search..did not get a particular answer.I was comparing for the GX60 cressida.I wanted a price range for Coilovers versus KONI's adjustables.

Any input appreciated.

my understanding is you get shockers (the koni's) and the coilovers for a complete adjustable riding experience.
i am planning this for my ra40 where i will get koni adjustable shocks and a coil over sleeve kit to turn the springs into the adjustable type. as opposed to just standard low springs with koni adjustables.
so yeah different things but both are required in some way to work synchronously with each other

importbitz sell the coilover sleeving kits by the way if you are going down that route.

Is it correct that coilovers are always captive?
Or are shortstroke shocks still required for lower than standard ride height?

Generally No and Yes.

Some have "keeper" springs to help this.

I've looked around the site and can't find any sleeve kits - just premade coilovers. Got a link?
