4A-GE for $750 Mon, 18 November 2002 07:02 Go to next message
In my ever lasting quest for more horses in the form of a 4A-GE to replace my 4A-FC, I may have weel struck gold.

This month's Hot 4s mag has an ad for SSS Automotive at Girraween in it advertising 4A-GE 100Kw engines for $750 and 4A-GZEs for $1200. Has anyone dealt with these guys before? If so have the engines been any good? What are your vauled opinions? Doesn't this seem cheap to you or am I just expecting to pay more than I may have have to (I expect a 4A-GE to be at least $1200). Thanks guys.

I have a 4age 100kw ver from my ae93 SX
I am selling the engine, gearbox, loom (hopefullyin in one piece) and ecu. I'm asking for $850 neg.
It has had all its gaskets changed + timing belt.
Was thinking of turboing it but change my mind and went 20v.
I have now brought the 20v half-cut so i wanna sell the 16v.
It is still in my car and running great. if you wanna see it before i take it out, email me.

I've dealt with SSS a fair bit.

Is that price with Computer?.. if so its good.

else ichiban were selling GZE's about 1 month or so ago for $750.. AE-92 model.
20V were the same price also.

Be careful with SSS.. they will work it to the max if your not wary.. ie where's my turbos?? OH those.. yeah they are extra.. etc

Unfortunately there will be no 4A-GE overly soon. Just spent 600 bucks today on a Sansui amp, 12" Xplod sub and 230Watt Xplod 6by9 3-ways 'coz my old ones had had it. Shit. Engine's in good nick so no rush for a new one.

I'll recover from that one next week, but with Chrissy coming, man, more bucks to spend. But in the new year I shall resume my quest and continue to suss out my options for power when I'm slightly more financial.

Thank you so much for the offer Limbi. You rock.

Oh, and for those who don't have an amp or sub, GET ONE!!
