1G-GTE or 1G-GZE into RA60? Sun, 20 February 2005 04:37 Go to next message
Hey guys,

I just got a RA60 celica manual. I wanna turn it into a bit of a project car and was thinking of an engine conversion...... I've heard that the 1g-GTE or 1g-GZE is a popular conversion.

How many mods have to be made to fit one of these engines in? I heard they almost bolt straight up? What about te gearbox will it bolt up to my celica gbox? or will I need a gearbox too.

How much are these engines worth with all ancillaries? (inc manifolds, turbo's/scharger, etc etc) I also tried a search BTW and didn't find much......

Thanks guys!

If you managed to find a GA60 crossmember it would make the transplant even easier.

I didn't think such a thing existed.

Might have a little more luck with the GA61 crossmember...

Even then I don't know how you go, the fronts of the car are similar, but quite different at the same time. The crossmember is quite different and things like the power steering aren't compatible at all.

Just as well I used the cautionary "IF" in that statement then. Laughing Yup a GA61 would be a lot easier to come by than one from the mythical GA60. Embarassed

I thought of this a while ago, and posted... and the general consensus was that they are completely different between xA6x supras and celicas.
