my mr2 constantly revs between 500 and 1500 when idling, and sometimes it even stalls? any ideas what this could be? i think its the timing, i know i have to be careful of this as its forced induction. thanks

MR2's do this a lot when there is air in the coolant. The coolant temperature sensor get's constantly fluctuating readings and adjusts the idle accordingly.

On the other hand GZE's tend to have a lot of idle issues anyway. Does it do this more when coming to a stop after driving or does it happen just when it has been sitting for a while as well?

Bleed the coolant. The process detailed in the toyota workshop manual works well but I find it's easier to put the rear of the car up in the air, on ramps or stands, then run the engine with the filler cap off and keep on topping up the coolant.

Obviously using the bleed up front for a while helps and you should have the heater turned on when doing this.
