most people go for the NA (ge)cams in 7m-gte's that are aiming for 400hp or less, Ed would be more the man on this subject

From what I've read the difference between the GE and GTE cams is very small, hardly worth the effort of swapping them.

Compared my cams in the Supra (7MGTE) to the cams in a MX83 Cressida (7MGE) and found no difference in lift or duration, and they also had the same part number stamped on them! Beats me Very Happy

i forgot, you know best. After all, Testing cams that have done 200,000km is very conclusive of finding engine differences.

Looking at Toyota Part numbers between the 7MGTE and 7MGE Cams

Exhaust Cams = Same part Number

Intake Cams = Different part numbers

yep you can swap them over a-ok - but will eed to reset your shims

and yes the intake cams are diferent, but i dare anyone to say that they are different enough to notice/care/even theoretically be an improvement Smile

I'm not 100% sure but IIRC correctly the early 7M-GE with the intake tract which splits in 2 after the throttle body has the different camshaft, the later 7M-GE like in locally delivered Cressida with the same intake manifold as the 7M-GTE has the same camshafts, I recall mention being made of the 7M-GE's torque being improved when some running changes were made, I guess the camshaft change was one of them
