Headgasket Goo Q.	Sun, 27 February 2005 03:17

Here's a quick one - if you are using a standard headgasket (non-metal) on a two stroke air-cooled bike engine (ie nothing liquid flows to or from the head) is it necessary or recommmended to use a gasket goo for the head gasket like ThreeBond etc??? [Report message to a moderator]

i wouldnt be using gasket goo on any headgasket. [Report message to a moderator]

Probably not needed at all. If anything, use a thin coat of spray on Hylomar (not the brush on stuff). [Report message to a moderator]

i work at a motorbike shop and we dont use any on PAPER head gaskets as long as they are new or freshly cut (we often make our own gaskets) as long as the head/barrel aint warped to much brett [Report message to a moderator]
