It looks soooOOooo much like the GS!! It's supposed to be the second model (after the GS) based on the L-Finesse design, but geez... Looks like there's not so much of a "design" as a copy-and-paste.

I like it! The front has a similar look to that LF-A supercar coupe from Detroit a couple of months back - maybe that's a new corporate face that Lexus is gradually introducing?
Shame they dropped a couple of IS trademarks though:
- the "IS taillights" (as they are known)
- the chronograph instrument cluster
Both of these were really unique to the IS, would have been great if they had carried these over, oh well.

Yeah, it's a shame. They're not making friends with the loyal fanbase of current owners by getting rid of those two.

And for those who liked the fact that the SXE10 was as closest modern thing to what a ae86 was, its getting further away from that path.

I don't like the rear end, looks too much like a Alpha Romeo, i think the 156. Why no AWD 6 speed manual? Meh i think we'd get the poorer models anyhow.

Hi,
Yeah, a bit Mazda6 looking. Which isn't too bad, I don't mind the looks of the Mazda6.
I like the LCD screen. I hope it can get Foxtel and also play PC games on it.
Not sure about the diesel engine though. I know they're very sophisticated and all that jazz now, but I still remember the Holden Gemini diesel.... clank.. clank.. clank.. and it's scarred my for life!

at what rpm does it make said 130kw?
ive seen a lot of stuff on cars making okay power on 'performance' diesel engines, where they basically have a honda vtec feel, nothing until the very top of the rev range where theres a tiny surge.

I might have read somewhere there is a 2GR (3.5 litre - IS350?) variant as well.

Wow, the diesel engine has nearly unbelievable performance. This car will fly with an auto, probably more performance than the 2.5 petrol variant.

Yeah. That IS220 in auto will be teh shiznitz I reckon. That'll be where the bulk of the sales will come from (as long as people don't get too hung up on the fact that it's a diesel).
And, yeah, looks like the IS220 might be quicker than the IS250.

What you mean? The last IS was a BMW 3-series clone, although it was built around their experimental handling platform.

I like it. The front half I can see a resemblance to the current IS nose but more sleek. The rest of the can looks a lot like the Alfas.
