working out spring rates?

Is it possible to work out the rate of a spring provided you're given
1. The entire length of the spring from end to end.
2. The inner diameter of the coils (ie looking through the coils from the
top and measuring the inside diameter of the circle that's visible.)
3. Measuring the outside diameter of the same circle to get...
4. The diameter of the actual spring material.
5. The number of coils in the spring.
I did a search but most the stuff found dealt with having a known spring rate and then cutting/altering
the spring to change the rate.
So is it possible to work out the spring rate given these details, even if its only a rough guide
(ie give or take 1-1.5kg/mm)? Could someone refer me to a formula that can be used if its possible?
(i really sucked at physics)
Thanks guys!
Eddie.

There's two ways:
1. Work it out mathematically
2. Get your fattest mate, and a ruler

yes it is
i have a sping nanogram which is a graph in whoich you enter the amount of active coils, height, coil diameter and so on and you get the rate

There are plenty of online ones. Do a search. Also it's a nomogram (a nanogram is one billionth [10^-9] of a gram).
