4AGE Turbo Manifold and TD04 Mon, 28 February 2005 10:52 Go to next message
Hello All,

Rex has for sale another manimafold.

http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=getfile&id=10102

Its comes with a TD04 from a post 2000 model WRX. Havent used the turbo yet but was assured that it is in good nick and came off a car with around 10,000km on the clock.

Its a runner style manifold and features die grinded collector and ports for smooth flow (and so on and so forth Very Happy). 'Tis finished in a matt black flameproof coating

The Turbo is a smaller turbo than usual so dont expect 300rwkw. It should however do 150rwkw with ease and spool up very early making great midrange grunt while being relatively inexpensive to replace. Unlike most Nissan turbo's it'll spin 20psi, and who knows how much power you'll make up there.

Rex has saved some of you the time and done a quick search on TD04's with 4AGE's.

Reason for sale, An offer came up and Rex needs to pull come cash together quickly.

Looking for $800 (negotiable)

PM Rex for more pics information

Hey Rex
what material is the manifold made from?
Is it to suit a bigport or smallport?
Could you do a measurement for me?
Just need it from the head flange to the most outside point
of the turbo, to check clearances in my engine bay.

'Tis made from mild steel steampipe in approx 4mm wall thickness.

It matters not, the exhaust side is the same.

Furthest part is 275mm from the exhaust port face.

Did you have the turbo rotated or does it sit like that with the outlet facing down already?

Edit: What size is the exhaust housing?

This is a good price!

The 'ousings have been Rotated. The Wastegate actuator is not finished yet as Rex have to check with the buyer as to how they would like it setup. If they're going to use it the same way or rotate them into some dis-similar orientation is yet to be confirmerised.

Exhaust size?, Shall have a check on the morrow...

And what do you mean 'well...'?

Your last question was answered (although not by me) and previously you had not asked if it was sold.

the real question would be, how long would the internals last.

Who gave Rex rabies in the first place you disease-bag git, biting my ankle n shit instead of fetching the stick Laughing. You are dead to me...

Thank you for your kind words.

But, to answer some Questions.

Housing size.
Unfortunately it is unmarked, but without another turbo here Rex would guesstimate the AR to be in the .40 to .50 range with the compressor slightly larger at .55 to .65 or so.

Reliability.
There be no reason the engine wouldnt last for just as long. Most engines can accomodate an additional %100 of torque loading. Its revs, excessive heat, maintenance and tuning that cause engines to fail prematurely.

Twincharge.
Inadvisable due to complexity and cost versus benefit. A well sized turbo kick its arse every time. TD04 is a smaller turbo so it makes usable boost quite early.

Geeza, you need a more powerful '86 that you can drive everyday Very Happy.

Rex
