2tg DOHC head Sun, 06 March 2005 08:42 Go to next message
hey guys,

I am in grade 12, got myself a TA22 celica (probly the ooldest car among all my mates by at least 10-15 years) in it it has a DOHC 2tg with delroto carbs

Heres my problem, i;'ve had my licence for a week and every since i started drving it it has being letting out back fires, today i built up the money to have it looked over and to my dismay cylinder 2&3 are barely reaching 100 PSI. it's not burning any oil so i suspect soimething in the valves or valve springs, but being a student i don't have the time nor the money to fix it

Heres my question, does anyone have a

that they would be willing to sell for cheap

I don't know how accurate my details r so heres a picture as well.

i am barely on the net so its probly best to call me on my mobile or text me, i am at school etc but will most definately get back to u if text me or leave a missed call

Pleeeeease help me if u can, thanks guys

ummm can i ask how is 100psi bad?? my 18rg has between 90-110psi (depending on the battery)

back fireing is either tuning or timing problem i think (caused by lack of spark)

good luck with the search neways

just my 2 cents

It may only be a head gasket blown between the two cylinders .

Na man, number cylinder 1 and 4 are running at around 150-155 psi it's not tuning or timing i just had that done, thanks though.

When i get the time i'll take the head off it and check but i don't think it's the gasket because sometime it'll run smoothly without a signle bang, where as other times it'll be pushing presaure out the carbs every few seconds on idle

Still chasin a head for cheap though.....?
