I baught a ae82 rolla 16v twin cam for $800(cost me 2k so far with rego and insurance). still have to do a couple of things before i take it up for 4.5k(tvis Laughing ), but loving the 4age.

also its making a grinding type of noise in idle(apart from pinging like a b*tch), but it stops when i push the clutch in... could this be the trust or release bearing?

Thanks dudes.

TVIS is bigport.

grinding noise could also be gearbox input bearing.
