Hey all.
I've looked through the tech atricles regarding this transplant into celicas, and i have read/heard that the RT104 shares the same engine bay/front design as The celica from the same time.
Can someone please remind me of the model number, and if anyone has performed this transplant, can you pm me so we can open a dialogue about the project and any problems, issues or ideas that you endountered whilst doing this work.
Thanks in advance.

I'd say it'd be the same as the RA40.

nope RT104 has double wishbone front end RA40 uses Mcpherson sluts
its been done with a 1g-ge into an RT104 not shure how you will go with the turbos clearence wise, engine mounts should not be an issue.

So the RA40 is diferent to the RT104. Is there a model the same, or is that as close as you can get?
Also, will the 1ggze be any more applicable? or will that still unlikely fit?

The celicas are the same in that they use the R series engines... thats it.
The engine bay layout is fairly different as is the xmember (they have different sump locations, but engine mounts are the same).
The 1G-GTE will probably be a better fit as its slightly shorter than the 1G-GZE.
Width shouldnt be a problem.. youll just have to tilt the 1G-GTE over a little to clear the steering box like the Celica guys do.
Go for it.
