My god that is odd.
Yeah, start checking around for a plug that has come undone.
Do any other of the plugs have spark?
It is possible that the ignition module is stuffed.
I wouldn't think its a sensor problem though.

my starter motor is pretty cactus so gettn it to crank over is a mission, so testing other plugs for spark is pretty hard
ive tried disconnectin #1 and cranking it over
to no avail, cranks over and wont fire, guessing they are not gettin any spark, or its too weak
know anyone in perth i could score a module off or even a 1jz ecu to try?

I meant do any of the other plugs have this mysterious spark?
Or is it just number 1?
Does the fuel pump turn on?
I'm not sure how the 1jz coil setup is, but normally the coils have power from the ignition main relay, which inturn gets its power from the fuse box.

It may help.

Coil signal comes from the ignitor, which inturn gets the signal from the cam angle sensor, which is where you would normally find the dizzy.

I'd say its a faulty ignitor (at a random guess)
CAS should be on drivers side, front of the motor, on the side of the head.

Would love to help, but it goes past my expertise.
All I would do is check plugs are in, and swap the ignitor and the ecu.
If that doesn't fix it, then its off to the professionals.
Its not runnig S-AFC or anything like that is it?
Could that be doing anything on its own?

Whever I've been suspicious of ignition problems I've always done the following:
1. Pull out all the plugs, put them back in the coilpacks & lay them on top of the cam covers (so that the coilpacks & plugs have a good earth connection).
2. Disconnect the starter motor power (so it can't be accidentally run)
3. Switch the ignition to ON
4. Turn the motor over slowly by hand (socket on main bolt)
After about 2 revolutions, the spark plugs will start to fire as you rotate the engine. The order is (as you'd expect) 1 5 3 6 2 4.
If you still get this strange multiple spark problem then something is wrong with either the ECU or Ignitor. If some of the sparks appear 'weak' compared to the others, then it is probably just time for new plugs (1Js have a healthy appetite for new plugs).

Peter

If you pull all your sparks out the engine will turn over alot easier, save your battery.
What is the wiring like in the car, good job or grubby?
If you want to find the crank angle sensor plug its down behind the alternator. The entire length of crank angle wire should be well shielded as they are supsebtable to electric interference. It sorta sounds like the ign system has been wired up to a source of constant +12V power (dodge). Then there is another wire for another system in the car which also has constant +12V power running near a section of exposed CAS wire hence cause the interference and giving the CAS a signal which is inturn firing the spark.
I assume the entire loom is intact so you may find its a section of CAS wire that may have been melted, so start checking. If you want to try another igniter I have one sitting in my hot little hand right now. Also check where the power source wire for the ignitor is going to, the wire is black with an orange stripe coming out of the small black plug.

had a little success with diagnosing the problem
kinda gave up for alittle bit and decided to give the engine bay a
little wash down
tried strating it aftetr that and viola!!
engine fired up
ran it for about 10 mins. engine sounded good, didnt over heat a
little black smoek was comming out the exhuast not sure if thats rings
or just coz the engine hasnt been run for over 8 months
i stalled it trying to reverse ( triple plate)
and from then on its being gay again, spark on #1
had it running just before and wouldnt run unless foot was on accel
was missing badly as in wasnt running on all cyls
sounded like its just a wire r somthign somehwere that i knocked into
the right place when i washed the car?
where exactly is the crank/cam angle sensor/s i cant fine it/them

There is 2 cam angle sensors on the passenger side of the head. One is at the very rear of the engine the other is half way down.
I dont know where the Crank angle sensor is in the block exactly all i can tell you is the plug for it is down next to the alternator.
