i've been into fish for couple of years now and currently breeding/keeping cichlids, just what brand is the canister? as only eheim will fetch the price u r quoting, and a big eheim at that, once i know the brand and model of the canister i can offer u a better price maybe?

If you can get a 6x2x2 for $300 go for it!
i saw a 6x2x2 with light stand and hood for $50 recently!
as for $250 i think Rala will reject it, but i will ask her.
we got $450 for my standard 6, so hers is probably worth atleast $350...
but then again its only worth as much as someone will pay for it!
But if you want to come and have a look just to have a look feel free.
But you wont be interested in the fish, just comunal stuff.
I had convicts and oscars in mine...

atm im keeping 6 and 7 bar frontosa's
altolamprologus calvus and compressiceps
lelupi's
electric yellows and blues
malawi blue dolphins
lamprologus ocellatus
and bristlenose cat fish
i currently have 6 tanks.
if i was to get ur tank it was going to be home to 6 bar frontosas.

Here fishy fishy fishy  I used to have a nice 3ft setup sold it coz i lost interest in it and all but i still love fish and maybe ill get back into keeping them oneday. thats a good price for that setup. I sold my 3ft with hood cabinet eheim canister filter heater the lot fish rocks everything with accessories for $400 worth a whole lot more. so a very good deal if anyone buys it  good luck.
