icon9.gif  Help! Brake Problems ~ Cost of items? Sat, 19 March 2005 02:09 Go to next message
Hey All,

In my MA61 I occasionally loose brake pressure as of yesterday Mad . What could be causing it...

Here is the story...
When I brake initially the brake peddle sinks to the floor with little power but if I pump the brakes repeatedly I get some power back. If I pump the brake when the engine off and then switch on the engine, the peddle sinks to the floor. What does this mean?

What would be the cost for a "new" or rebuilt Master Brake Cylinder, Caliper rebuild kit all around and the Double Brake Diaphragm?

Cheers.

have you tried bleeding them first and checking for leaks
do this first.
it does however sound like the master cylinder has gone kaput.
hope this helps let me know.

sounds like it could be the booster too. sounds like it looses all vacumn. i suggest buying a new master cylinder instead of a rebuild. ive had dramas with rebuilt ones.

clamp the hose that goes to the booster and then start the car. does the pedal stay hard??? that could prove a vacumn leak

From memory both the booster and m/cyl were about $195 each, recond ones.
