the 1G-GTE is the turbo

1G-GZE is the supercharged one.

Not sure of the power difference, sorry. Smile

dude.... please please please search. either these forums or just google. that question and many of the others I'm sure you're dying to ask (like "how can I make my ra60 a 10 second car? is a 100shot of NAWS dangerous to my manifold?") are covered repetitively.

1g-gte is only available as a twin turbo.

ok if u ever want to get anywhere with your car stop posting questions and start doing the researching yourself.

no researching doesnt mean posting questions researching means searching and reading.

we try to discourage the "spoon-fed" mentality here and the earlier you start to find things out for yourself the better.

we can help u get started, reall all of the articles here:

except the "engine swap guide" thats pretty misleading.

http://www.toymods.org.au/tech.html

once u have read these then go here and read some more articles (they are the .doc files)

http://www.toymods.org.au/tech.html

then when you've finished READ THEM AGAIN!

then go here and search for specific topics you still want answers for.

http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=search&am p;rid=19&S=1e7e2b5047245d74af8f19db65132fef

thats lather, rince and repeat rob... Razz

2L8IV1 - In a way Rob is correct. Most people, especially the ones who have the ability to be most helpful with information and the most knowledgable, do not like spoon feeding - and in fact will simetimes go out of their way to NOT help.

Dont take this as direct offensiveness to you, it stems from years and years of answering the same questions, going over the same topics and seeing them pop up over and over again.

You will gain far more respect and you WILL get help if you can demonstrate that you have tried to learn something for yourself. All the informatoin is here, and on the internet. In Fact the 1G series engines is possibly one of the most well documented on these forums and this website.

Have a look at the "Tech Docs" and "Articles" pages on http://www.toymods.org.au , there is so much information there which will answer this question and much more, without having people jump down your throat Smiley =

Enjoy your reading.... Smiley =

how exactly would a 6 cylinder have 10 valves, 12 in the minimum, you could have 18 possibly but considering the 1ggte is a 24valve twincam motor i'd say thats a dew more than twelve. Razz Razz
Ever seen a pre 89 soarer whats at the base of the door, a big sticker saying 24valve twin turbo http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=msg&t h=62240&start=0&rid=4118&S=e247baa36d8 01873f2a0a58931288cb2 hmmm

he aint gonna listen, bloody great effort with your RA40 (i really hate RA40 sedan/coupe whatever it is) but than again i have never seen one done up (eccept for BLUEWIRE but thats a liftback) so now that i have seen yours with that color i have had a change of heart Very Happy but still not sure about those side skirts but from what it looked like before it is eccellent and with 900+ on the clock you done a hell of a job Very Happy

My RA60 Celica only has 195.000 on the clock but my body work is no where as good as yours.might post up pictures of it soon to see what people say.

oh, and 2L8IV1.. just go buy a sprinter. you definitly want a jdm one. $8k right there. Then put a pod filter, cat-back exhaust, race seats race steering wheel, race gear stick knob, dorifto handbrake, fully-sick body kit and super-ultra deep dish rims. then bugger off, and come back when you have a real idea of what you want out of a car, and actually have the knowlege and money to go through with it.

Yeah, go get the sprinter. They are good cars. If you can, try and find a 4ageu; they are ultra-rare. Would add to your street cred. Fit that into your sprinter, and you will be loved by all Laughing
