Fitting Apexi Pod filter to GT4
|

I just got an apexi pod filter and am wanting to fit it to my 1990 GT4..
Anyone got any info on what the best way is to do this?
So far i'm thinking about shifting the battery to the boot to make more room (also need info on this)
Not sure if there's anything else to watch out for...
Thanks for any tips..

re battery how to - i did a huge How to on this recently - scroll back or pup in a search for it and youll have piccies and all!
straight intake is a good idea if you want to move rthe battery your - but you may need to lengthen wires to shift your AFM ..
Ask lance , who also did a how to on a straight intake mod swap , about how you go about this

it was only posted about 3 weeks ago - have you tried searching the tech section for " battery in boot " or Gt4 battery relocation ?

nope - there isnt any factory - and none i know would habdle the amperage going thru them .. An isolator switch would be smart though - i have on on my + tive terminal - and will be fitting an inline one in the cabin

The factory wires arn't going through the car though so not as important if they heat up...
What sort of amperage are we talking??
100 amps or so?

$100 shipped but i have to buy the adapters of course..
carbon fibre or aluminium filter?
I assume the metal parts are aluminium or something and the filter part is whatever they make the filter part out of...
Standard apexi pod filter.. just silver version..
Got recent pics of your set up -==L=a=N=c=E==-?
I'm now thinking of doing mine the same way as you.. a lot less hassle by the looks of it...
Cheers

recent pics, um, only one i got is the one with my engine out of the car

Yeah no worries
I think i'd have to be a little more conservative with my straight air intake as the pod filter is a bit longer than your filter...
I'll keep ya's informed on how i go.. I gotta find someone to make up one like yours i guess but shorter...In adelaide..
You got MSN ? I've got a couple of questions if you don't mind being bugged

i used 400 amp weldiong cable for mine ..
Details are all in that write up mate - the cables from cigweld - should be able to buy it at any of the specialised welding suppliys places
100 amp will cook in no time - your car will pull upwards to 300 amp on cranking i believe

survey says!
BAM BUW!
in SA a pod filter is totally legal as long as the piping from the filter to the TB is fixed down as it would be if it were stock and there isnt excessive amounts of movement in it
