um i dont think there is a 3tg as a production motor, there is a 3tgte and a 3tc, a 3tg is a hybrid of a 2tg head and 3tgte/3tc
crank which makes it 1800cc, bore out to about 1980cc max.

no such thing, but a 3TGTE is 1770cc, as I assume is a 3TC.

a 3T-C was carbied and 1770cc, a 3T-GTE was EFI turbo and 1770cc also. there was no EFI NA 3T as far as im aware.
to make a 3T/2TG hybrid (3tg) you use the 3TC bottom end and a 2TG head. you need to have reliefs cut into the piston crowns so that they dont hit the valves.
it would be a waste of time and money to do the conversion you described, much more sensible to just buy a 3T-GTE in the first place.
