Well they still do, in terms of their bread and butter cars. But they seem to have completely forgotten the enthusiast....

I dont know, i havent seen any hotted up ones on yahoo auctions Laughing but why would u buy a TE72 when they got the TE71 Truenos w/ 2TGEUs

Yanks got lots of TE72s and TE71s from what i can see on cardomain, cept everywhere else they were corollas, toyota just whacked a different name on the T-18 to try and shake the corolla image (add to that the 1.8 was a big block compared to the k motor powered rollas of the time ;P ) - also the only rolla in aust to get a T motor

The 1 and 2 refer ONLY to engine size NOT body style.
2T(or G) 1600cc = TE71
3T 1800cc = TE72
All sort of body styles were available, including coupe, sedan, liftback etc etc but chassis code was only determined by engine. Most US ones were 3T powered TE72's.

Sounds like the same reason they badge their 2-door 'rollas as Sprinters!

I have just purchased one of these 'Macho Machines' Razz

Not too bad a car...but it needs rack and pinion steering.
