oran park this sat (NOW WITH PICS) Tue, 29 March 2005 04:06 Go to next message
whos going to oran park this sat, i'm going to spectate and to try out my new 90-300mm telephoto lens woot. I have two rolls of film probably use em both. Still haven't got my new scanner though, too busy saving for a better car. Anyway, if you see a guy with either a HRT bucket hat or reebok cap, with a backpack and a camera with a nice big lens come and say hi.

is it gonna be the same set up as last time ie changing every two hours between the short and nationals circuit, nationals is probably better for pics cos you get the bogan hill corner and the link up down the straight, although the corner just before the pits is good, but after that on the short circuit there is generally to much dirt/smoke flying to get pics.

This practice is my deadline to have the CA up and running. A full day to get used to TORQUE!

I was hoping to have my new suspension in as well, but doesn't look like that's gonna happen.

Either way, I'll be there.

Confused

If someone wants to lend me a straight, passenger-side control arm, and some stiff-ass springs then yeah, most probably.

Sluuutty! Will has my old control arms - but i think he may have used the passenger one. Drew should have some lying around

haha....my car could be finished by then too, only have a few nibbly bits for the cooler piping and then i could be out there like mofo on schteroids

fingers crossed

So who's going tomorrow????

I've been assured we will witness the return of a certain dark green AE86 with tyre-frying fury..... As well as Bathurst-91's return to the track to hone those rapidly improving skills after a few week's hiatus.

No Dirty Ibis, due to me still waiting on parts that I was supposed to get by now Mad

Anyways, at least a 3rd of Team D.I.D. will be representing, flying the flag of filth. Freak ARGH

Were there many cars out there?

I'm going to have to start getting out to as many day-time events as possible for better light now that daylight savings is finished..

Anyone got any idea if these are going to be on more frequently now?

The events are organised by different groups of people some of which are competitions and some of which are practice days.

www.initialdrift.com.au (Initial Drift Australia)
they held the practice day yesterday and setup the driftnats in-conjunction with fulllock. (practice days are either saturday/sunday) And are also running a NSW drift championship. (D-Day)

www.driftland.com.au
basically these are the owners/organisers at the actual track and theyve decided to run fortnightly events 'twilight drift' (friday nights)

www.fulllock.com
organiser of the drift nationals.

theres also sub-organisers such as Peter who organisers (Fatz Drift Dayz) Which sometimes run inconjuction with circuit days on the actual Oran Park circuit.

upcoming events (NSW>

15/04/05 - Twilight Drift | Driftland
23/04/05 - D-day Practice | Eastern Creek
29/04/05 - Twilight Drift | Driftland
07/05/05 - D-day Competition | Driftland
13/05/05 - Twilight Drift | Driftland
21/05/05 - Fatz Drift Day | Driftland
27/05/05 - Twilight Drift | Driftland
28/05/05 - D-day Practice | Wakefield

Lots of action to come just a heads up also. Team Dirty Ibis D should be in full flight at the next event Smile Sluts CA18 debut, Des' 4AGTE debut, and me and Wills cars actually running smoothly for once.... Shocked

pretty much all of them are focused it just that my scanner sucks balls so they look shit when you scan them in, the only ones that look at of focus on the actual photos are one sprinter one of the go 180 and the one of the datto ute with his hand out the window.
No i wasn't the bloke with the vest on his the official photographer for the IDA forums i have talked him at the days i attend though. I stand where all you peeps are on the hill and down on bogan corner and take photos but thanks to my good lens and a better one may be coming hush hush i can get good pics, once i get some cash i'll get a film scanner and that way you'll see the real deal.

pretty much all of them are focused it just that my scanner sucks balls so they look shit when you scan them in, the only ones that look at of focus on the actual photos are one sprinter one of the go 180 and the one of the datto ute with his hand out the window.
