5k, 3k head?

Hey
YOu know how peops say put a 3k head on a 4k block and it gives higher compression what bout a 3k head on a 5k block or a 4k head on 5k block?

hi troy
3k head on a 5k block will actually lower the compression unless you were to put flat top pistons in it or supercharge it and therefore needing a decomp head, because the 5k has domed pistons (and a smaller combustion chamber to suit) whereas 3k has flat top pistons.

That is the best irony I've ever head because I am going to supercharge it! Hopefully SC14. So what you think? Sound like a plan, put EFI, supercharger, 3k head and then other little ditty stuff.

yeah for sure, that would be pretty quick i reckon, a couple of people have discussed the whole supercharging thing on here just recently, you should check those out.

combustion chamber sizes (in head)
3K = 33mls
4K = 36mls (flat top pistons)
4K = 17mls (dished piston type)
5K = 17mls (dished pistons)

So what would be best, because I'm supercharging would a 5k block with 4k head raise or lower compression? Whats the best combo! PLEASE!
