with a SAFC you can modify the signal to the air flow meter and change the amount of fuel being pumped by the injectors. i think this model has 8 tuning points (which means you can change the fuel and 8 different rev points)

yes it can be used with many types of sensors! it gives you some control over the A/R ratios in you car... also has a bunch of other cool stuff in there, if your interested download the manual and go through it....
