7MGTE Retorque Mon, 04 April 2005 04:32 Go to next message
g'day,
i am looking into doing a 7MGTE swap soon, i was reading on andy's site about getting the head retorqued as there is an issue with this hence the head gaskets. because i still want to run a standard head gasket, but have it all retorqued how much boost is it still good to run... who much boost can u run before u hit fuel cut ?

not as in the gasket still in the engine, i will swap it over, but keep a normal gasket rather than a metal one.. cheaper

dude seriously do it before you put the engine in or youre going to have an uber pain in the arse time getting it back out again to deck the block and clean it properly..

MHG is teh win. My stocker hasnt blown yet, but im already allocating funds (~2K) for the mhg+arp's + je forged pistons + rods and maybe cams too if i can squeeze it in.. coz thats how much i HATE ripping the damn thing out!

I agree. My spare 'std gaskets' are for an interim until I get the whole motor done with the MHG.

As mine is running at the moment, that is what I'll have to put up with, and eventually build up a std motor with MHG.

Do it once and do it right.

Yeah dude. I only said that my std gasket has held up so far and has not given me any problems. I don't expect it to last for a very long time though.

No I think they're implying you should go into A project instead of just dicking around with a lot of talk and no action.
