My 1989 ST162 Celica SX UPDATED! - Rims on as of 25/2/05 Sun, 06 February 2005 10:18 Go to next message
Hey guys i Picked up my ST162 on friday afternoon (24/12/2004). So far im very happy with it and am looking foward to doing it up a bit. Can anyone tell me any mods that are more of an uncommon one, that suits the car (ie you wouldnt do to something that isnt on a toyota or a celica.) Anyway, Im happy with the car and its alot nicer and quicker to drive than my first one

heres the car domain linky Smile

Yeh its fairly nice and clean, the paint is a little bit faded on the roof and there is a pinhole dent on the front right 1/4, but aside from that its fairly good. Lots of mods coming along quickly too Laughing

It sounds good, has a nice deep tone, soon i will finish the system with a high flow cat then some stainless piping and a cannon, should be better then. Will also do cai and pod filter then.

Will definatly sound good then, although i like the current tone

i blocked it out origonally, but when i made the pic black and white it looked shit because there was a really bright white patch, so i tryed filling it in with the plain number plate colour but there was too much of the one colour and it looked crap again, so i ended up just leaving it

Today changed plugs and leads from stock (i think) NGK Spark plugs, the leads were definatly stock.

What i thought would be a 10 minute job took three and a half hours. Because the plugs had been in there that long, they were tight and practically seized in place, so the first one i tryed to remove snapped at the thread (not the bolt) so i couldnt undo it at all, just the bolt was screwed into the thread.

The second one then seemed like it was going to snap but all of a sudden it came loose, shortly followed by the third and fourth. I was somewhat frustrated after 2 hours thinking i would have to have it drilled out and it costing me alot of money, we had tryed jamming screw drivers, wrenches, long nose pliars and any other tool you could find in a tool box after applying half a can of wd40 to it. Still wouldnt budge, then as a last resort we decided to fill the hollow centre with three screwdrivers, that way they couldnt slip there would be no room, with myself and my best mate twisting for our lives all of a sudden it loosened, but it was still a battle to apply that ammount of force to the bastard to get it undone. We finally got it out after about 3 hours of fucking around and being absolutly stumped.

About 30 seconds after i got the plug out i received a sms asking if i wanted to go for a cruise tonight with a few boys, If i had received that message 10 minutes earlier i would have thrown my phone across the other side of the yard...

anyway enough talking here is the pictures of the bastard, i hope you never have to deal with it...

Evil....FKing evil!

http://www.v8holdens.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10003/Picture%20009.jpg

The new setup, Bosch Platinum+4 Plugs and Prospark 9MM leads.

Has anyone else changed leads without the standard crappy caps like i have, or did you order special leads. As far as i can see it wont make a diffence as that cover ontop where the leads run through doesnt seal anything airtight, rather just serves as a cover over the plugs, correct me if im wrong...

Rims have bene on the car since 25/2/05, who thinks its not low enough, im tossing up ideas on buying superlows and replacing my lowered king springs which are only a month old. due to ride height.

man i have king lows and 17's on mine and it sits heaps lower, amazing wat new shocks can do to ride height and probably comfort, mine scrubs on the 17's everywhere and also suspension bottoms out often , but meh ! nice job man ! if only u were in sydney !!!

also i like the sneaky with the leads ! excellent, new 8mm ones are like $125 ! or something bullshit like that
