anyone taken the p/s off?

I think in conjunction with lighter pulleys and replaced belts (if the aircon / power steering are no longer in), there might be noticable gains. No specifically in more power, but losing less before it gets to the ground.

im pretty sure a/c was a standard thing on all st162's. if u want to remove the a/c then ur going to have to match up something over the shelf, thats gonna be the only way.

Brad.
I have never known an SX to come without a/c.
some ST came without a/c but they used a different pulley system to tighten the belt. it shouldnt be too hard to get a measurement of the belt and buy 1 to that size... however I think u need to consider how your gonna tighten the belt once its on.

Dude, you can measure the distance needed quite easily with an old stuffed belt and then buy the correct size belt. Most belts are named (and it's always written somewhere) what the length is where you buy them.
I think Dayco? make them.. all their model numbers are the length in CM if I am not mistaken.

My extractor setup is for sale!
These are very nice Berkey extractors, their exit straighter to the head than the Genies. Basically big 4-2-1s
I am selling the whole setup from head to cat. It is all welded and has the stainless flexi and oxy sensor flange + oxy sensor.
It will suit a series II ST162 with the oxy sensor beneath the firewall on the pipe.
I bought some other extractors and these have to go. They are not even 2 years old.
I am looking for $350. I will install it on ya car if you like for $390.

yeah no worries
this is much less than it cost me, and it's worth! I paid $400 and that doesn't include the stainless flex and piping etc etc
The only *drawback* is that the piping once the extractors finish is like only 2'' to the cat. But meh, at this price

My current car is an SX and it doesnt have AC-its not that it was taken off but it didnt come with it.Where the controls are on the dash it has a toyota plug instead so i take it that these did come out.
Actually, if my memory serves me correctly they were assembled in japan without AC and it was installed on our shores when required/ordered for a customer. I'll see if i can take some photos of my pulley set up for ya
Another thing-If i have series 1 extractors will the still be okay to put on for series 2?Will the o2 sensor still reach or fit?The new car im getting has them but they're not as clean as mine.Cheers guys

replaced all my radiator hoses today, also replaced the starter with the one rob sent me.
On that note, thanx rob, help me out very well, at a VERY good price packaged well too.
I may be selling my steed soon though, bank offered me some money, and I want a MR2 or GT4.
Cheers all

hehe oh yeah, hey doobs, I have mailed you the starter lol
so the starter works great? it looked pretty new
StuC -> my extractors have a spot specially for a series 1 oxy sensor, so you could easily mount it, and just put a cap on the spot where the series 2 sensor plugs in.

btw,
Matt your car is looking awesome buddy!
Also has anyone had experience fitting a pod filter onto a sr20de in an s13?its really straight forward except for this one hose.its on my mates car and i just had a 10sec look at it for him. this hose is coming from either the rocker cover breather or the exhaust manifold and it runs through this black box and into the lid of the airbox. i was thinking of just fitting a little breather filter onto the end of it, instead of blocking it off all together. any ideas?

Have you tried the rotor button Brad?
ON another note i picked up my car last night. So in the driveway and on my front lawn i have my 86 celica and next to it my new red, full black leather interiored 87 celica.
Im gonna take the engine out next week and start the process of building it up.Fist thing will be bearings seals and rings on the block. Then i'll need to save for the head job(hehe)
And ive also discovered that it has a set of pedders springs and more than likely new struts in her too which will come in handy for the sale when im done.
There's only a few small probs with her that i can tell so far-i need to re-wire the elec windows or at least clean em up a bit and fix lock alignments etc etc.
I'll keep you guys posted and will put up some pics later

yeah pretty much same problem.
i mean it will start everyday fine, but once in a while, say every 2 weeks or so, depending on my luck, it just doesnt start. doesnt even crank over just clicks and thats it. But the slightest push start will get it running.
I also heard someone say it could be the air flow meter getting sticky on certain conditions ? But it only ever fucks up on me when i first go to start the car in the morning.

this is a common problem with the wire connectivity to your starter. a relay boosting power to your starter will fix ur problem rp162.
Brad.. have you tried using another ignitor...and is ur dizzy pulsing with the ecu. these need to be working in perfect harmony for the car to start.

Okay so i was wrong about the pedders shocks but it does have new struts by the feel of them and get this, lowered king springs at front and either sagged(but still really good) OEM at rear or cut ones. So im gonna donate my standard heights to the lucky buyer of my car when its ready.
just 1 Question tho-does any one know how much low kings will drop our car compared to standard?or how low will super low go? Ive decided that i need to be brought down a notch or two but am not sure how far. Thanx guys
