appart from damaging paint due to temperature, can any other damage be done if a turbo is to close to the bonnet. after having to modify a manifold i got cheap to get my turbo to fit, all i could was mount the turbo higher and it sits about 5-10mm from the bonnet. is that bad or will it be alright?

I would be more worried about the turbo hitting the bonnet under a shaky cold start condition, as eng bay clearances usually are ment to be 12mm according to my enginner. If your worried about paint, use decent 2 pak.
