Hey Everyone,
I have moved up from syd and would like if some can let me know of any good mechanics that have good knowledge of 4AGE engines.
Have done most stuff myself but i think theres more i dont know about!
Have taken it to other places but they say its normal, i say no way as it didnt make that noise a month ago so i dont trust em!!
Hopefully some one can help!!

Hey ralph, I'm an aprentice mechanic, we don't specialised in 4AGE's, I recall the last one we had in was in a Westfeild. But the guy's I work with know their shit about strange noises, so if you want to bring it to us let me know.

first of all we specialize in buckets of shit.
nah jk. because we are an RACQ! approved repairer, we get all the dead cars towed to us to fix.
we don't specialize in anything really, we know a lot about everything, One monday I did a bit of cooling pipe work and houseing on a 4AGE in a corolla.
We are normally booked a week in advance, I'm sure my boss won't charge much if he is just susing it out.
normally the diognostic is free so long as if you are going to fix it, you get us to do the work.
Our workshop is at Yeronga, on Fairfeild Road.
I think we do a pretty good job.

Do you know the BP on fairfeild road?
Well we are the garage behind it, not to hard to miss with a million cars parked outside.
I've just ripped out the motor and g'box from my celica tonight and sprayed the engine bay, and tomorrow I will drop in the new hybrid 3TG, all goes well it will go like a shower of shit.

Haha, I get fuel there all the time (I live up the road) and a few times I've seen some young bloke working on a TA22 in the garage... I guess it was you! You might have seen my car at some point, a dodgy-looking orange RA23 with crap paint and shiny old-school alloys. Smile

yeah I think I have seen the RA23 around, actually I thought I saw you along the corso yesterday morning but on closer look it was a girl driving, still shitty orange paint.
Well I have to say the Hybrid 3-TG is in and running, bloodly hell does it sound tough!!, pitty it broke down on me last night at the end of the Inner city bypass. damm alternater chocked and I was driving around just using the battery, looks like no lunch hour again for me today.
Just have to say this, currently running my engine in so I can't take it above 3000rpm, but your ment to give it a stab off the line to bed the rings in and put high compression on them, well give it a stab and there is wheel spinnage, not bad for a 28 year old piece of machinery with the stock auto behind it. the 2T never would have done that.

say Norbie, does the wheels on your RA23 stick out from the guard more than under it?...if so then it was you. I was stuck in a shit box of a sigma, it had sweet all clutch and couldn't make it up any hills, I was almost about to abandon it and hike it back to the work shop.
Do you go to the celica club meetings?. I finally got myself along to the last meeting, wasn't to bad so I'll go back next time.
Might see you round on the streets, be safe.

Yes, the front wheels stick out heaps since I did the Supra brake upgrade. Looks pretty tough but they do rub on the guards occasionally.

I go to the Celica club meetings pretty much every month, but I missed the meeting last week due to other commitments.
