I'm living in the past! HELP!!

I've just moved back out in the country after a few months in Brisbane and it feels like i'm living in the 1920's!!
There is no TV reception and i'm going mad already!! No idea how I have put up with it for the past 2 and a half years.
I have been getting my sister that lives in a town close to here with TV reception to tape shows for me and I watch them a week later but even that town doesn't have SBS so can't watch Pizza, Mythbusters, South Park and the likes.
I get one radio station...Triple J and even that is fuzzy and can only pick it up at night.
Where could I go to bring this up to try and get something done about it? It is the year 2005....everyone should be entitled to TV and radio in the 21st century!
What do you guys think?
Oh and by the way...just filled the car up....$1.32 a litre. I'm buying an electric car!!

Yeah the Foxtel is the go but I have short term stays in all these towns and they are asking for a 12 month set up. So unless you can move in the 1st 12 months I can't do it.
Thanks for the replies too...some funny stuff.
The horse is looking good too. They say petrol will go to $1.50 by Mid May.
And EVOSTi....no nothing is better than the J's so that hasn't been all bad.
And yeah the internet has been good but I feel like a nerd. ha ha
I did lose the net and the phone too becasue it rained and wet all the lines. The phone sounded too crackly and the net wouldn't work for more than 30 seconds at a time. Lucky it only rains once every 6 months or so.
We have no mobile range either!
After this 6 month contract here where should I go to have a better life? Any great towns or cities out there? I'm thinking Sydney or Melbourne? Maybe overseas?

Hi,
Judging by the amount of crap, personal & political agendas and other useless garbage that clutters our radio and TV airways, perhaps you're better off without this insideous form of media polluting your mind.
Enjoy the tranqility and do something personal, like reading or writing or painting. Be creative. Spend more time on yourself and enjoy it. Take adavantage of this opportunity.

Hi,
Ahhh... yes.. the early quiet country morning... birds chirping sweetly as yet another beautiful dawn heralds a wonderful day in the country... where you sit on an old log.. the billy boiling.. and have yourself a damn fine tug!

all I got to say is, FUCK THE COUNTRY!! I find Brisbane too slow let alone some two bit town..As for moving to another town after your stint in the country,I enjoyed Melbourne but the weather is just too erratic(spelling) to handle and Sydney has it all but at a premium,im thinking Perth is my next destination, ive only ever heard great things about it..

HA HA HA
More time to wank...love it. If that was all I did i would have pulled the skin off by now.
I am keen on getting into photography a bit more. I really enjoy it and the stunning beauty out here is perfect for it.
And riceburna73....I have done a massive amount of travel since i've been out here...8 times a year I go on a holiday somewhere and Perth is a beautiful place. I dare say the best city in Australia except it is too far away from the East coast.
It has culture, beauty, enough things to do without being crazy like Sydney (I love Sydney too but only for 2 week blocks).
Oh and back onto the subject....2 months ago a girl came to this town and she was the only single girl in the town....Well I know of 14 guys she has slept with in the 2 months she has been here. ha ha. A town full of horny guys and a single girl is a recipe for disaster!!

hmmm, would that be because its on the west coast?
Perth is a shithole, end of story.
dude, if you need sanity, ring foxtel up, tell them your situation and they'll organise something for you!
