When is too much to pay

With all the recent price hikes in petrol and what it looks like doing in the future i was just wondering what would be the limit you would pay before you decided to park the car or cut back the use in a big way.
For me it would be $1.40p/l for petrol and about $0.80 for gas.
Would look at hybrid or deisel after that.

i wonder how this whole fuel industry works. really.
i'd like to know what actually causes the price of the fuel to change every few days.
its getting ridiculous. i mean last week i payed 1.05, today 1.16, for the same fuel mind you.
that is unacceptable. i'd expect a few cents a difference max. but not 10c.. wata joke.
the sad thing is we still have to buy it, and theres nothing we can do..
wat i try to do to avoid the bs prices is..
fuel up to the top. when i am left with half a tank i fill up only if the fuel price is decent. if not wait a few days until it is ok.

You dont have a choice, you will pay whatever Bush* (Administration) deems suitable for them.
You have NO choice.
*Not Bush himself, just the Bush manipulators and associates; aka Saudi's et al.
Oil isnt getting any more expensive for them to pump, your just paying for the War on Terror and the Search for WMD's GW Bush's father, GH Bush gave to Saddam 20years ago when GH Bush put Saddam in power and profitted from war against Iran.
But lets not get political.

I'll be picking up camp, and moving closer to work LONG before I stop driving the Skyline. I wouldn't mind picking up a cheap 4cyl shitter to keep the kays off the 'line though - I remember all too well the fuel economy the Celica got - 7.4L/100km vs. 11+L/100km for the skyline ! ! !
I don't think you can save enough in fuel each year to buy the rego and insurance for a second car tho.

seems funny that at this time i am contemplating getting a second, car unless your cars use over 15L per 100km stop ya winging, mutters about the 22re and its v8 like ability to chew through fuel, now just if i can talk the guy down thats selling the 1ggte corona, and convince my parents that it is necessary that i own two cars and two coronas, one for fun, one for station.

talking about petrol is depressing, cause it should b about 80c a L as all the news says, but the reality is its not instead we are paying $1.14 which is fucked! i also agree with how fucked it is how it goes up 10c every bloody weeek! why can';t it just get to a price and stay there rather than just fucking jump around all the time!

my favourite part of this thread is where u all think you deserve favours from the oil companies and government when it comes to oil prices, its as if u think they owe you.

i pay 103 c per litre...
if its any more expensive, ill leave it for another day or two...
although im not really picky, i usually fill up at 1/2 to 1/4 tank... which at the most, means i pay and extra 3 bucks... thats if its 113 cents...
im nt really THAT fussed, its a bitch, but neccesary evil!
if ya dont like it, buy a prius

stop whining..... its not as though the majority of people on here are going to stop driving. if anything you'll be happily surprised when theres less cars on the rd when people decide to catch the train or bus to work
you all sound like a bunch of 7 y/o school girls bitching about daddy not buying you a new barbie on the w/e
meh whatever, i know that bitching on a forum isn't going to get the prices down.... hand me my gun....
