icon5.gif  MA61 Diff Swap? Tue, 19 April 2005 12:05 Go to next message
Hey All,

Would it be worth to change my diff from (F293) 4.10:1 to a (F303) 3.727:1 for mainly highway use? Yes the car is Auto... and No I don't want to convert over to manual.

Has any one done it to their 5M-E and if so (in Auto) what does their car sit on RPM at 100kph?

Cheers.

The taller the diff, the lower the revs at highway cruising speeds. So yes it would be worth while to change from a 4.1 to a 3.7. But i thought that Aus spec MA61's (manual) already had 3.7 diff's in them?

EDIT: Just re-read that. Forgot you said you have an auto which do have 4.1 diffs in them. Rolling Eyes

Manuals actually have 3.9's. That said, I don't think I could be bothered.

Everything will be out by 10%

Speedo will read LOW by 10%
Revs will be DOWN 10%

Also fuel usage should decrease, but so will acceleration
