Got my mz20 up for sale, it's completly stock and reasonably clean condision. Selling it as is for this price. engine runs little rough, just needs injectors cleaned (still plenty of power)
It's the 3litre GT model with 7mgte. 110,000km on the dial and all the god damn luxury options you could ever want! lol.
Im moving out so i need to sell car although if I dont get any reasonable offers I will keep it as nothin' wrong with it, just sum xtra cash wouldnt hurt at the moment.
The body is immac, not one dent and the paint is nice n glossy, all the features work including the 'TEMS' auto suspension.
so here are sum pics--->>

That should be one of those Mastercard priceless photos
1. Digital Camera - $500
2. Selling your car - $5500
3. One of the photos on the ad showing your 7M-GTE overheating - Priceless
Just kidding mate Its probably heat soak after going for a drive! Good luck with the sale

Its called heatsoak.
Most turbo cars will go up by 1-3 bar within 2 mins of turning them off.
Mine sometime went up to the top bar.
Within 15secs of starting the engine its back to normal.

Is that the purpose of turbo timers? to prevent heatsoak?..
and also - nice neat soarer.. goodluck with the sale.
Could have had a mate interested if you were in Perth.

I imagine so. They just keep the engine going so if its back to normal after restarting the engine 15 seconds later, a turbo timer like mine that leaves the engine idling for 1 minute would definitely perform the same task.

It will still get hot even with a turbo timer.
The turbo timer is there too cool the turbo, not the motor.

Take the car for a drive/thrash, then let it do its 1min turbo time down.
Come back to the car in 2-3mins and turn the key ON.
Look at the temp guage.
If the 1GGTE is anything like the 7MGTE it will be 1-3 bars higher than normal.
Sorry for clogging the thread up MonkeyPunch, just trying to clear up a few things.

Ok ill clear this all up, b4 takin the photos, i had been driving the car home, it was normal temp, i went inside got my camera came back and took some pics, turned on the ignition to take a pic of the digital dash and that is where the dial goes even tho the car had been sitting for maybe 4 min since running.
ANYWAY, this is a post dedicated to selling my car and not the complications of 'heat soak'

I cant stop laughing this is priceless for sure , When i read the first post and its said runs a little rough i thought headgasket is gone for sure only to see ......
That photo
Owning 3 7MGTE soarers myself at the moment and owning more on the past they never and i mean never go past halfway unless of course BHG BHG BHG
Have just finished doing the g/fs headgasket a few weeks back due to rough idle only and of course temp guage rising and rising

hmmm right so obviously you think idle that is a little rough can only be caused by a blown head gasket? wow your a genius 1200douche you must have real magical powers of prediction to jump to that conclusion, i mean like what else could it be? there are only countless reasons why an engine could idle roughly...
Will you be my mechanic? your so amazing you can tell whats wrong with a car without even seeing it!! your so good you dont even need to use tools cos you are one!

If it was anything other then a 7MGTE i wouldnt jump to the conclusion of a BHG
being a 7MGTE it isnt hard to diagnose , you could possible keep driving the car for months and years how it is. Ive just been and tested the heat soak theory on all 3 of my soarers and i cant get the temp guage to go higher then half way other then a month or so ago when one of them had a BHG and ran rough

man poor guy. Posts his car up for sale and bang its got a blown head gasket.
Maybe a free exhaust test to see if there is exhaust gases in the radiator would be a good idea to clarify things? Otherwise let him sell his car? And if someone is that insistent that it's a BHG go do tests urself?
