hey guys n girls,

im new to these forums and i wasnt sure whether to put this thread in technical or track, sorry mods!

I have recently acquired a AE86 aka Sprinter AUS SPEC 4AC.
My previous car was a 150rwkw 180sx which went alrite for a CA18det but anyway when i had that car i got into drifting.
CA18det arent really the greatest engines for serious comp so i sold the 80 and bought an AUS SPEC Sprinter for $3000.
Now more to the point i really want to get to a serious level of drifting, maybe the next B.Yates or S.Michealmore?, and i want to do it in the 86'.

I wrote down a list but it needs some modifying and thats why im writing.I want a competitive car but i want it done cheaply/budget:

STAGE ONE, get all handling aspects first
-lsd [what kind??? thinking a kaaz or a JAPSPEC 86 but i heard they are getting pretty old]
-stripped interior, nardi wheel [just front seats and dash left]
-suspension [but i dont have a clue. I wont it done cheap but still good quality][or how about just springs n swaybar?]
-upgrade front brakes [not sure because of power, look stage two]

STAGE TWO, the go!
-4agze [i was also thinking black top / silver top 4age, but the 4agze has more potentional without going over the top].
- 2nd hand supra cooler
- oil cooler
-exhuast
-clutch
-pulley
* im not sure go front cut or juz engine because the front cut would have brakes,loom/ecu,gearbox,engine [the lot] but i also heard that the 4agze bolts upto the 4AC gearbox! HELP

im not going BODYKIT until i got the funds to!
rims - defianlty get them but not sure what kind [clearance of brakes]

What you guys think?
Help me decide what parts etc please, the more i think the more cofused i get!
Thanks heaps callum

research is the key here, sit down and think about exactly what you want/need to make it slide.. then hunt it down.
i have a mate selling a nardi wheel at the moment by the way PM if interested.
good luck.
i would convert to trueno front if i was you and had money (there so sexy) Smile

um mate...first of all....do a search...ill tell u what i know but im sure that other ppl know better about a drift set up as mine is just a street car

second of all....u wont be drifting anything with the 4ac, except maybe in the wet....even 4age 16V u need considerable skill so i recomend that u dont think of drifting just yet...make ur car handle

a good start for ur "stage 1" Rolling Eyes would be to get some king springs and kyb shocks...if u want drift then swaybars also...plus roll center adjusters and braces....it all depends on ur budget

i run a trd 2 way lsd and i think its fantastic but i have been told that cusco rs is much better (either way budget over 1K just for a new center)

im running jdm rotors on the front but this needs an upgrade, not that it matters as i use engine braking more then brakes

but before u do anything....just read lots of posts....use the search and yeah....it will help u to avoid looking like a tool Very Happy

either way good luck

Adam

just wondering, since you seem really determined in drifting, how much time are you giving to go through all these parts and how much money?
