Hi there
I just got hold of a twin cam hatch with a stuffed cylinder head. I am going to probably get an import motor and swap it out. I saw this thread and I see you've fitted the ae92 motor. my question is how much needs to be changed for it to fit and can it work with the 82 computer? or would I be better off working the 86kw engine? hopeing you sell your car soon.
cheers.

You can run the 100kw motor on the 86kw ECU but it wont run smooth. Alot of idleing issues and also one thing to take into account when you put the 100kw engine in and if you do put the 100kw ECU in, If you aint gonna do the wireing your self it isnt really worth it.
Thats what i know anyway i might be wrong but thats the problems i ran into.
Sorry to hjack you thread good luck with the sale.

Have a look at the date guys i sold this car over a year ago!!
As for changing the motor there is a bit of mucking around to fit the 100kw, dont get me wrong its a pretty much bolt up conversion but you wouldnt run the 88 ecu, unless you can do the wiring yourself or know someone that can i wouldnt really bother for the performance differance you will get for the money you will spend. I now have a bigport in a aw11 and can say i missed that tvis oomph
