Sorry to hijack the topic, but why is it not possible to replace the defective parts and present the car for RWC (or 'Regency' there is it?) for clearance of the defect?

nah thats ok
i very much doubt that the car would be able to clear Regency...
too much rust
they would just take one look and tell me to go home and get a new car
