well, thats it for the 4K-C in my liteace, CHAR-GRILLED!, i was revving it up in the driveway when the carby crapped itself and spat fuel out of the throat and where do you think it landed to start a fire? The god damn distributor. Lucky i had the seat open, but not lucky that i didnt have the air filter hose attached to the carby which would have stopped fuel spitting everywhere.

I jumped out in time and switched off the ignition and put it out with the garden hose! i really have to invest in a fire extinguisher, i had pics on the computer, but my sis deleted them by mistake!
Any ideas on what engine i should stick in? 4 cylinder ONLY

Thanks
Ben

i have heard of the 3sgte motor ending up in hiace's before.. is there much difference in engine bay sizes with these two? maybe something to investigate... torque wouldnt be an issue anymore..

a quick fire should not of stuffed your motor rewire, new hoses and away you go Smile unless it was sad to begin with Sad and you want to go faster Very Happy
it takes a lot of heat from an external fire to bugger the inside of a motor, by far the cheapest and quickest option

nah, im just gonna stick in a 5KC and keep it simple, and by the way, the old 4KC was sad, very very sad, it would start after i put in new leads and fixed the carby temporarily, but it just died after a few minutes, i didn't bother with looking into it

just put a 350 chev in it like that plumber did at willowbank. 4 grand cash, 9 second quarter miles, still with the pipes and red flag on the roof http://forums.toymods.org.au/images/message_icons/icon14.gif

Your measuring tape will decide which engines are a reasonable option. You will find most DOHC engines will be too tall to fit under the seats.
